About

A bench for the part of SSL that trips people up.

Getting a certificate is easy now; most hosts hand them out free. Installing it so that every phone, app and server accepts it is where people get stuck, and the cause is almost always the chain: a missing intermediate, the wrong order, a stray or expired certificate, or a certificate that does not belong to the key.

What it is

YourSSL Outlet reads a certificate chain, from a public server or from files you paste, checks it against twelve published rules, and gives back the files in the right order with install sheets. It is self-service software: no person looks at your server or your files.

What it is not

We sell no certificates, issue none, resell none, and show no "secured by" seals or badges. It is not a security audit, not a monitoring service and not a certificate authority. It is not affiliated with any certificate authority or browser maker. It is run by WeldonPC, which also sells web hosting and computer services; the one banner ad on the public pages advertises them (see Privacy).

How a server check reaches you

One TLS connection from our server to the public IPv4 address your name points to, on port 443, identifying itself with the name you typed. It reads the handshake and closes. If an intermediate is missing, the issuer's own address written in the certificate is fetched. Requests are limited per visitor, per checked name and per day.

Who runs it

YourSSL Outlet is a self-service tool of WeldonPC (Garfield Heights, Ohio). It is not WeldonPC's help desk or billing; those are at weldonpc.com.
